There is no one who can recall Tom Brady's humble beginnings quite as his former Patriots teammate, Julian Edelman.
Edelman took a trip back to his roots in order to celebrate the seven-time Super Bowl champion, after the announcement on Thursday that Brady and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes would be featured on the cover of "Madden NFL 22".
"You've made some advancement in the past few years since QB No. Edelman tweeted "12' @TomBrady" along with a screenshot of an earlier Madden game that didn't contain Brady's name or picture.
The 199th overall selection in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady took the reins of quarterback in New England from Drew Bledsoe in the 2001 season which was the year he won his first Super Bowl as a Patriot. He would go to win six championships alongside Bill Belichick during his 20-season time in New England.
In March 2020 however, Brady signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In February, the 43-year-old quarterback defeated Mahomes (25), and the Chiefs in his seventh Super Bowl title.
Edelman who is 35 years old, a wide receiver, officially gave up his cleats after 12 seasons. Brady, a longtime acquaintance of Edelman, thanked his former rival in a sincere Instagram post.
